If you are interested in a working cattle station experience, observing chital deer (which are often described as the most beautiful deer in the world) or if your simply passing through Charters Towers or Townsville, come and stay at historic Maryvale Station.
Your accommodation is situated close to the original and historic Maryvale House which was built in 1908 by William Hann, who is credited with reporting the first tree kangaroo. Hann bought the land to develop a sheep station. However, the environmental and economic conditions did not favour sheep and the station was converted to a cattle property. Maryvale Station is still owned by Hann’s descendants.
If you’re interested in activities, we can provide a guide to take you chital spotting, bird watching (there are 167 species of birds counted on the station to date) or treking along Maryvale Creek. Alternatively you can relax and enjoy the stunning sunsets and sunrises.
